Cycling Rain Pants

Cycling rain pants are made from waterproof material. They are full length and often have a draw string at the top to keep them up. Mine have a gusset at the bottom of the leg to allow them to be put on without taking off your cycling shoes.

You may find rain pants uncomfortable on your skin because they are basically sturdy plastic bags. After being in the pair that I use for just a few minutes, I feel wet inside. I am unclear if that is because I am sweating or if they leak. You may find that they get in the way when riding.

A marginal advantage of rain pants is that the spray from rear wheel does not soak the back of your cycling shorts. You may find it almost as effective to stuff a plastic bag inside your shorts and tights.

Another observation is that you will be warmer. An advantage when it is cold and a disadvantage when it is warm.
